Installing Zimbra Desktop

Installing Zimbra Desktop for FC18 (Fedora 18 x86_64)

Zimbra Desktop is a free PIM designed to be used with Zimbra Collaboration Server but it can be used with other email services.

Use the following terminal command as 'root' :

$ su - root
# yum -y install wget glibc.i686 alsa-lib.i686 alsa-plugins-pulseaudio.i686 xulrunner.i686 libcanberra.i686 clearlooks* --enablerepo=updates-testing
# mkdir /opt/zimbra
# chown -R <your_username>. /opt/zimbra
# chmod 777 /opt/zimbra

# logout
# exit

or
# su - <your_username>

$ cd /tmp
$ wget http://files2.zimbra.com/downloads/zdesktop/7.2.2/b11951/zdesktop_7_2_2_ga_b11951_20130318070459_linux_i686.tgz
$ tar xvfz zdesktop_7_2_2_ga_b11951_20130318070459_linux_i686.tgz
$ cd zdesktop*
$ ./install.pl

So, if you want to set up your dictionary for "pt-BR" first download the pt-BR.zip file from (http://files2.zimbra.com/downloads/zdesktop/dictionaries/pt-BR.zip) and then extract it into directory /opt/zimbra/zdesktop/linux/prism/xulrunner/dictionaries/

$ cd /tmp  && wget http://files2.zimbra.com/downloads/zdesktop/dictionaries/pt-BR.zip
$ unzip pt-BR.zip -d /opt/zimbra/zdesktop/linux/prism/xulrunner/dictionaries
/

Set the profile for pt-BR :

$ vi ~/<your_username>/zdesktop/profile/user.js
user_pref("spellchecker.dictionary", "pt-BR");
...
..
.

Thx
